Legacies

Your legacy can save dogs lives - just a small gift in your Will could make a huge difference to the life of one or many of our dogs.

Valgrays Border Collie & Animal Rescue is run by Val Phillips and a team of dog lovers who work exceptionally hard to rescue and rehome as many homeless dogs as possible.

As we are run by volunteers, we are completely reliant on the kind donations made to us throughout the year and do not receive any government funding.

As a small charity, we do not have the size and scale of other better known dog charities to run nationwide campaigns to raise funds, but are looking to raise awareness of our charity to increase

the level of donations we receive, especially donations through Wills, to enable us to save more dogs.

If you are looking to make a Will or already have a Will and would like to consider giving a gift to Valgrays Border Collie & Animal Rescue as part of your legacy,

your act of kindness could help us with all of the valuable work that we undertake.

This is vital in helping us to pay for kennelling for our dogs until we find them their new forever homes.

£5.00 per month will pay towards heating, £10.00 per month will pay for one night's boarding and food, and any further funding will help us rescue and rehome more dogs,

contribute towards veterinary treatments such as vaccinations, neutering and microchipping.

Making a Will:

We are not able to provide advice on how to make a Will, but suggest that a local solicitor will be able to provide advice on how to set up a Will in order to leave clear instructions about any gifts

you may wish to make to a charity like Valgrays Border Collie & Animal Rescue. Remember that any amount, however small, can make a big difference to one of our dogs.

There are different types of legacy that you can include:

Pecuniary legacy - A gift of a sum of money.

Residuary legacy - The residue of your estate is everything left over after all debts, testamentary expenses and other types of legacies have been paid.

Specific legacy - A specific item such as a piece of jewellery, an antique, shares or a property.

Key Information to include: You will need to include our name and address and charity registration number Valgrays Border Collie & Animal Rescue - Charity Number 1088503

Gift Aid ..

Please note that we are now registered with Gift Aid.  If you make any donation, please enclose a note stating that you are a UK Tax Payer.  If you do this we can reclaim the Tax amount on your donation - so we will gain an additional sum ontop of what you donate.  Thank you.

Where to drop off/deliver items donated ..

(just leave your bags of donated items by these vehicles):

  • Agility Show:  (Marian's Nissan Primera cherry red; M654 reg OR Val's Van)
  • Drop off at Valgrays, Warlingham, Surrey
  • Email to find local delivery point valgrays@hotmail.co.uk

Donations would be wonderful ... (see below for where to send donations)

You can help by either donating money direct to Valgrays, or by fund raising in any capacity you can think of (see below for ideas!).  It is of course excellent if you do come up with ideas to fund raise; but (there is always a but isn't there!) ideas are brilliant, but if you have one, how about making it a personal project to see the 'idea' through from thinking stage to producing the money?  Oh yes, that means actually doing the fund raising yourself or getting a group together to do it.  Sadly existing volunteers are already up to their eyes in it .. so what do you say Valgray Owners (and supporters) are you up to the challenge???

Email for clarification or delivery / drop off points:valgrays@hotmail.co.uk

Please SAVE ALUMINIUM to help our funds ... It is with deep regret that we cannot take aluminium any longer - thank you all so much for getting your tins to us but the price

of aluminium has now dropped so much that we just feel we can hopefully fund raise in another avenue....any suggestions would be much appreciated.

(marian has said get searching for COPPER) good money in it....!!!!

WOW  153,474  visits to this site - that is amazing, if only each one of you readers were just to send us £1 or a small donation it would help our rescue work out so much.  Without funds the dogs cannot be helped ... we are in urgent need of funding.  Perhaps your club can offer a raffle, coffee morning, or even donate one class from your next dog show, or just dig deep into your pockets and donate ... remember it is for the dogs and every penny helps ... please please help valgrays as with no funds we cannot help these poor unwanted dogs ... what with feeding, veterinary costs and general care it takes all the donations we have come in .. we just cannot survive without funds for these dogs .... please please help.   See HOW TO DONATE BELOW.  Thank you.

Cost example of dog recently homed:   Transport cost to get dog into rescue £20, vet fees £50, worming, flea treatment, microchip etc £15 donation received £100 ... so that leaves £15 for food, heating, bedding etc .. and this particular dog was already neutered so we didn't have those costs to find!!!  The sums speak for themselves, like most rescues/charities we need your help to keep doing what we do .. please consider Valgrays as a charity to support .. thank you.
